Sometimes, when you open and click the Edit button on the Google Docs Android app, the on-screen keyboard won’t pop-up as it’s supposed to. This seems to be a common issue which has been around for a while without a fix. Common solutions include exiting the app and trying again or reinstalling Google Docs. But this breaks the flow of document editing especially when you want to make a quick change.
A quick fix to this issue is to use the 3-dot menu on the top-right and toggle the Print layout option. Close the menu and this should bring up the keyboard.
